Additional Details about the position
- Provides overall technical and scientific oversight of laboratory operations, including selection, verification, and performance validation of test methodologies, ensuring accuracy, precision, and clinical appropriateness.
- Establishes, implements, and maintains quality assurance, quality control, and proficiency testing programs; monitors performance and ensures compliance with all regulatory standards.
- Identifies and resolves technical issues, implements corrective actions, and ensures test systems are functioning properly before releasing patient results.
- Oversees staff training, competency assessment, and performance evaluation (including initial, ongoing, and post-methodology change assessments), ensuring personnel maintain required skills and certifications.
- Identifies operational, procedural, and training deficiencies and collaborates with leadership to implement improvements.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Experience in a Moderate or High Complexity laboratory conducting testing focused on the treatment of Primary Care/General Medicine patients.

Our Health Center is a family-practice outpatient clinic with Emergency Medical Services and many ancillary programs. We are located in a rural and isolated area of western New Mexico, 45 miles east of Zuni PHS and 65 miles southeast of Gallup Indian Medical Center. We are a tribal 638 clinic serving the Ramah Navajo Band of Indians who number approximately 4,000 plus other neighboring individuals in this underserved area.
