Additional Details about the position

• Patient Types:
• Outpatient: General Surgery, Plastic Surgery, Urology, Dermatology, Bariatrics/Weight Management
• Frozen Sections: Performing rapid freezing and cutting of fresh tissue (using a cryostat) for immediate diagnosis during surgery.
• Staining: Applying standard stains (e.g., Hematoxylin and Eosin - H&E) or special stains (immunohistochemistry) to differentiate cell structures and identify abnormalities.
• Mounting and Coverslipping: Placing the stained section on a glass slide and covering it for, protection, and examination.
• Quality Control and Maintenance: Maintaining instruments (microtomes, processors) and verifying slide quality to ensure accurate diagnostic results. 

EXPERIENCE/ REQUIREMENTS

• Histology Tech: MOHs cutting experience in the past year is a MUST
• Cutting
• Cryostat
• Lab familiarity
• High School Diploma / GED Equivalent
• Dermatology: 2 years

CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS 

• BLS
• National Certification
