Schedule: 7:00 am - 7:00 pm (can be submitted for 36 or 48 hrs ; they will receive guaranteed hours)

• Floating Required: Yes
• Frequency: Daily, based on case volume

Additional Details:

• 1 dedicated CVOR room
• Case Volume: 2-3 cardiac cases per week
• Tech Expectations:
• Must be able to scrub independently for open heart cases
• Expected to assist with vein harvesting 
• Team Structure: (team varies by shift)
• 1 cardiac surgeon
• 2 perfusionists
• 4 surgical techs
• Primary Cardiac Cases:
• CABG (Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting)
• Valve replacements/repairs

Equipment & Systems:

• Experience with standard CVOR equipment expected, including:
• Heart-lung (bypass) machine support environment
• Cell saver
• Familiarity with common cardiac instrumentation and sterile setup required

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• The clinician must have at least 2 years of experience in their discipline (RN, CST, CT Tech, etc.) as well as 2 full years of recent experience in the specialty they are being submitted for (Med/Tele, OR, etc.)
• Experience with endoscopic (preferred)
• Due to lower cardiac volume, candidates must be well-rounded and able to support other service lines.
• Areas: General OR, Vascular, other surgical specialties as needed
• Minimum expectation: experience in these service lines in addition to CV:
• Vascular (VASC), General Surgery, Plastics (candidates who only have CVOR experience without additional service line exposure will not be considered)

• BLS
• CST
• NBSTSA (optional)

ABOUT THE FACILITY

Our Center is a 180-bed, Trauma level III, acute care inpatient teaching facility in Cooperstown, New York. We offer 24-hour emergency and trauma care, comprehensive cancer and heart care, dialysis, and most medical and surgical specialties. The Clinic is located on the same campus as the medical center, and provides outpatient primary and specialty care.
