Pay Rate: $1,400.00 - $1,600.00 gross per week

Travel: Has onsite housing, covers 1 RT flight, they have company cars you can sign out for 2 hrs at a time.

Schedule: M-F 8am- 5pm clinic hours and working in the village from 9am-6pm 

·                    Typically 1-2 hours of OT

  • Willing to travel in a small aircraft

EMR: Dentrix EDR and Mipac for Radiology

Additional Details:

  • Seat patients in the dental chair, prepares them for treatment, and reviews their dental records.
  • Sterilize, disinfect instruments and dental equipment.
  • Provides post-operative instructions and provides oral health care education.
  • Prepare materials for dental procedures per manufacturer's instruction.


Laboratory/Specialty Equipment Used: Papoose Board on small children


REQUIREMENTS/CERTIFICATIONS

  • Dental Assistant National Board Certificate (CDA) preferred but not required
  • Must be a self-starter. Able to work without direct supervision.
  • Knowledge of dental instruments and medical/dental terminology.
  • Knowledge of basic computer skills
  • Must be able to complete Indian Health Service (his) x-ray competency evaluation.
  • Must be able to provide age- specific care to patients of all age levels
  • Must pay attention to detail and assume responsibility for tasks assigned.
  • Knowledge of Infection Control


STATE LICENSE REQUIREMENTS

  • Must have completed an Accredited Dental Assisting course or 1 year of dental chairside experience.



ABOUT THE FACILITY

This facility includes 21 village clinics that are accredited by Joint Commission and are staffed by Community Health aides. Our Community Health Aide Program (CHAP) plays a very important role in village health services. Our health aides can provide Preventative, Acute, Chronic, and Emergency care within their scope of practice using the Community Health Aide Manual (CHAM) and reporting to a referral Physician at the Kanakanak hospital. They work closely with our case management and assist many other departments that include, but not limited to: Optometry, Audiology, Diabetes, Medical Staff, Dental, and Infant learning to ensure our patients are getting the appropriate and essential care that they need.
