- Clinical Leadership: Ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care according to professional standards and best practices. This involves developing and implementing evidence-based practices to improve patient outcomes.
- Staff Management: Managing and supervising nursing staff, which includes registered nurses, licensed vocational nurses, and medical assistants. They are involved in staffing, performance evaluations, fostering a productive work environment, and addressing employee issues.
- Policy and Procedure Development: Developing, implementing, updating, and maintaining medical clinic/nursing standard operating procedures and participating in policy development.
- Compliance and Quality Assurance: Ensuring that nursing care complies with established standards, regulations, and accreditation requirements, such as those set by the Board of Directors, federal and state laws, and accrediting bodies like The Joint Commission (TJC). They also engage in performance improvement activities and staff development.
- Cultural Sensitivity: Possessing an awareness and understanding of Native American cultures and healthcare needs is essential to providing culturally sensitive care.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and a current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Extensive clinical experience, often including leadership and supervisory experience
- Experience in an ambulatory care or clinical outpatient setting is often preferred.
- Knowledge of Native American culture and health needs is crucial.
