Additional Details about the position
Preoperative Assessment & Preparation:
- Verify patient identity, surgical site, and consent.
- Review patient medical history, allergies, and pre-op labs.
- Prepare the OR room with necessary equipment and supplies.
- Intraoperative Care & Safety:
- Aseptic Technique: Enforce sterile field integrity throughout the surgery.
- Patient Positioning: Properly position the patient to prevent injury (e.g., nerve damage, pressure ulcers).
- Surgical Counts: Perform counts of sponges, needles, and instruments with the scrub person before, during, and after the procedure to prevent retained items.
- Provide a thorough report to PACU nurses regarding the procedure, anesthesia, and any complications.
- Endoscopy cases are high
- Pain management procedures/cases are high
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- 2 Years relevant experience
- Must have seen Ortho cases; knees & shoulder
- Need ortho experience
CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
- ACLS
