Pay Rate: $2,200.00 - $2,400.00 gross per week

Schedule: Monday - Friday; clinic is open from 7:00 am - 7:00 pm 

  • Schedules will be coordinated with each Service Unit Lab Supervisor

Additional Details about the position

  • Laboratory specific orientation, training and competency assessment will be provided by the Service Unit as needed.
  • Perform, update and/or review Quality Control, Calibrations, and Maintenance.
  • Prepare patients and collect blood specimens utilizing arterial puncture, venipuncture or capillary methods.
  • Prepare patients for collection of other specimen types such as urine and stool.
  • Process and analyze clinical laboratory specimens using various diagnostic laboratory equipment such as analyzers, microscopes, and centrifuges.
  • Review, verify and report patient results.
  • Laboratory Technician must be proficient in major areas of the clinical laboratory, such as clinical chemistry, hematology, coagulation, blood bank, serology, urinalysis, microbiology, and molecular testing.
  • Laboratory Technician must be proficient at capillary and venous blood collection. Must be able to and interact with a diverse patient range, from newborn to elderly, across hospitals and clinics. 


EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Two-year associate’s degree in medical technology, Clinical Laboratory Science or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Familiar with IHS systems such as RPMS, or VistA.
  • 1-3 years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting
  • Phlebotomy is required


CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS 

  • Certification as a Medical Technician by a recognized certifying body (e.g. ASCP, AMT)


LICENSURE REQUIREMENT 

  • Any State License
