Additional Details about the position
- Provide oral hygiene instruction to patients. Develop, with the Dental Director, programs to disseminate information on preventive dentistry and oral hygiene.
- Provide fluoride treatments for patients.
- Expose, process and mount radiographs on request of the dentist.
- Evaluate patients with periodontal disease by use of diagnostic skills, periodontal probe, and periodontal evaluation forms.
- Ensure proper sterilization of all instruments used for scaling and prophylaxes.
- Develop and implement programs to promote fluoride, i.e., fluoride tablet program, community water fluoridation.
- Aid the Dentist in development and implementation of periodontal treatment plans for clinic patients.
- Keep current with new techniques and philosophy related to preventive dentistry and periodontics.
- Actively attend general and dental staff meetings.
- Perform expanded duties to the extent the law permits.
