Additional Details:

  • 200-300 prescriptions a day
  • The pharmacist verifies them and tech fills them

Inpatient, outpatient, ambulatory, and ER pharmacy duties (all in the same building)·

  • Dispensation & Preparation: Accurately fill and package prescription medications, as well as prepare compounded medications and unit-dose orders.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor drug stock, check for shortages, receive and verify incoming pharmaceutical shipments, and organize shelves for optimal retrieval.
  • Patient Records: Update patient prescription histories, manage billing and insurance claims, and maintain manual and automated pharmacy files.
  • Facility Compliance: Strict adherence to safety, sterile procedures, and regulatory requirements (HIPAA and controlled substance laws).
  • Team & Patient Communication: Act as a liaison between patients, doctors, and the pharmacy team. Address customer service queries and direct medical inquiries to the on-duty pharmacist

ABOUT THE FACILITY

This facility includes 21 village clinics that are accredited by Joint Commission and are staffed by Community Health aides. Our Community Health Aide Program (CHAP) plays a very important role in village health services. Our health aides can provide Preventative, Acute, Chronic, and Emergency care within their scope of practice using the Community Health Aide Manual (CHAM) and reporting to a referral Physician at the Kanakanak hospital. They work closely with our case management and assist many other departments that include, but not limited to: Optometry, Audiology, Diabetes, Medical Staff, Dental, and Infant learning to ensure our patients are getting the appropriate and essential care that they need.
