Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm / 40 hours Schedule can be full time or be 1 week on ; 1 week off (coordinate with another OD)
Additional Details about the position
- Diagnose and treat a wide range of eye diseases, i.e., glaucoma, related systemic condition related to diabetes, high blood, thyroid, sexually transmitted diseases and rheumatologic conditions and visual and ocular problems, neuromuscular impairments or anomalies of binocular function.
- Provide specialty services, clinics and community based screenings to school age children, individuals prone to diabetic retinopathy, low vision, contact lenses, geriatric and special needs patients.
- 10-15 patients per day
- Routine comprehensive eye examinations, Acute evaluations for eye irritation and foreign bodies, Glaucoma screening and treatment
- Diabetic retinopathy screening utilizing a JVN imaging system
- Referrals to specialty ophthalmology services
- No surgical services are performed onsite.
The clinic is presently supported by one Medical Support Assistant (MSA), who is responsible for:
- Operating the JVN machine for diabetic retinopathy screening, Managing eyeglass ordering and repairs, Providing general clinic support and coordination
- Use various equipment and devices for optometry and ophthalmology services.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- 2 Years of Optometry Experience Minimum
