Additional Details about the position

• Variety of tasks, starting and maintaining access to blood vessels (for example, with IVs), feeding newborns, changing diapers, keeping newborns warm, and giving medications. Taking samples of things like blood for lab testing when needed.

PROCEDURES

• Perform comprehensive head-to-toe assessments and reassessments per policy for adolescent general patient populations.
• Assess and reassess pain; apply appropriate pain management techniques and educate patients and families.
• Revise the plan of care based on patient response and evaluate its effectiveness daily.
• Deliver age-appropriate care tailored to the patient’s condition and developmental stage.
• Administer medications accurately, based on patient age and clinical condition, following the five rights of medication safety.
• Develop and implement individualized teaching plans; evaluate learning outcomes and include family education as appropriate.
• Assist physicians with procedures and perform technical and manual nursing tasks within licensure scope.
• Provide treatments and services consistent with licensure and clinical competencies.
• Treat patients and families with respect and dignity; address psychosocial, cultural, ethnic, and spiritual needs.
• Serve as a liaison among administration, patients, physicians, and other healthcare providers.
• Engage patients and families in care planning and maintain professional communication.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• Charge experience highly preferred
• 2 years experience

CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS 

• BLS
• NRP
