Schedule: Schedules will be coordinated with each Service Unit Laboratory Supervisor. Hospitals require 24/7 coverage. Holidays and weekends included. Outpatient clinics require

coverage Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m., excluding federal holidays.

Additional Details about the position

• Perform, update and/or review Quality Control, Calibrations, and Maintenance.
• Prepare patients and collect blood specimens utilizing arterial puncture, venipuncture or capillary methods.
• Prepare patients for collection of other specimen types such as urine and stool.
• Process and analyze clinical laboratory specimens using various diagnostic laboratory equipment such as analyzers, microscopes, and centrifuges.
• Review, verify and report patient results.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• Familiar with IHS systems such as RPMS, or VistA.
• 2-3 years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting
• Phlebotomy is required

CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS 

• Two year associate’s degree in medical technology, Clinical Laboratory Science or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician by a recognized certifying body (e.g ASCP, AMT).

LICENSURE REQUIREMENT 

• Any State License
