Additional Details about the position

• Initiating dialysis treatments
• Monitoring patients during treatment
• Terminating dialysis treatments
• Communicating with providers throughout treatment
• Independently troubleshooting dialysis machines
• Administering medications
• Managing vascular accesses
• This role is strictly focused on hemodialysis treatments.
• Candidates should be comfortable independently initiating, monitoring, and terminating dialysis treatments while collaborating closely with providers throughout the patient's care.
• The unit has space for 3 dialysis beds
• Adult patients only
• No pediatric patients 

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• Prior inpatient dialysis RN experience strongly preferred
• Experience with hemodialysis required
• Experience using Fresenius machines preferred
• Strong communication and critical thinking skills
• Ability to manage dialysis accesses and administer medications during treatment
• Experience documenting in Epic preferred
• Candidates should be comfortable working independently in an inpatient hospital setting and caring for higher acuity patients when needed. 

CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS 

• BLS

• NY License

Our Hospital is designated as a Critical Access Hospital licensed for 23 acute care medical/surgical beds, including extended care "swing" beds for patients needing additional time and therapy in order to recover from illness or surgery.
