Travel Mental Health Clinician Manager

Pay Rate: $50.96 - $76.92 per hour

Travel: All expenses covered, client books flight, has lodging (rental car is not needed, as lodging is near clinic)

Start Date: 01/05/2026

Length: 13 Weeks w/ chance to extend

Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00 am-5:00 pm

Additional Details:

  • Work includes a regular caseload, walk-in clients, home visits, telephone conferences; with individuals and families involving counseling in marital problems, parent/child relationships, alcohol and drug-related problems, grief, sexuality, identity/self-worth problems, batterers, survivors, crisis situations, and related social, emotional, and psychological problems.
  • Makes and receives referrals from other local agencies; establish rapport and cooperative working relationship with other programs and agencies.
  • Strong understanding and sensitivity to American Indian/Alaska Native (AI/AN) Tribal culture and lifestyle, working effectively with AI/AN populations.


Minimum Education & Experience Required

  • Master Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or related field.
  • Three (3) years supervisory experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in the development and continuity of a behavioral health component which includes: terminology, biopsychosocial assessments, and consultation for medical and other related professional persons.
  • Progressive responsible administrative/management work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform duties of this position.
  • A combination of relevant experience, education, and training may substitute for education and experience requirements on a year-for-year basis.


Preferred Education & Experience

  • Current unrestricted LCSW, LPC, LMFT, Psychological Associate license to practice in the State of Alaska.
  • Experience in community clinic preferred and a strong commitment to multi-disciplinary teamwork.
  • Experience providing clinical services to Youth, Children, people with substance abuse disorders or serious mental illness. IHS experience is a plus, management experience/supervisor.


CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Current unrestricted LCSW, LPC, LMFT, Psychological Associate license to practice in the State of Alaska.


LICENSE REQUIREMENTS

  • Any state license, Island in Alaska


ABOUT THE FACILITY

We provide acute and chronic medical, dental, pharmacy, optometry, and behavioral health services—offering specialized women’s health and pediatrics care. In addition, we offer essential preventive services such as cancer screening, TB screening, diabetes screening, prenatal care, and health education. Since assuming the health care services, the Clinic has seen many positive changes, including patient visit increase, construction of a new freestanding, ambulatory health facility (April 2000), a new behavioral health facility (July 2018) increased funding through grant resources and expanded services, including a diabetes program, optometry, and lab services.
