Travel Physical Therapist

Pay Rate: $2,300.00 - $2,500.00 gross per week

Assignment Length: 13 weeks

EMR: Epic

  • For both inpatient and outpatient settings
  • Experience with Epic is strongly preferred but not required.
  • Clinic features "computers on wheels" for real-time documentation. 

Schedule: 8am-4:30pm ; Day shift, Monday-Friday

  • 30-minute unpaid lunch (per New York State labor law).
  • Regular Saturday coverage (4 hours) on an intermittent basis (approximately every 4th or 5th week).
  • On weeks with Saturday coverage, 4 hours will be trimmed from another day in the preceding week.

Additional Details:

  • Primarily outpatient
  • Inpatient acute/swing-bed rehab coverage on a less frequent basis (estimated less than 5 hours/week).

Outpatient:

  •  General orthopedics and practice PT (highest case mix includes shoulder, back, hip, and knee diagnoses). 
  • Falls/balance referrals. 
  • Neurological diagnoses (e.g., stroke, Parkinson’s).

Inpatient:

  • Critical-access hospital with a small swing-bed rehab unit (approximately 15 patients).
  • Diagnoses include orthopedic injuries, post-surgical recovery, and general illness rehabilitation post-acute stay.

Case Volume:

  • 15 sessions/day (30 minutes each)
  • 1 hr slots allotted for new patient evaluations. (limited to 4-5 per day).
  • 30 minutes each for Follow-ups
  • No double/over-booking in usual practice

Specialization Areas:

  • Not required, but therapists on-site specialize in vestibular rehab.
  • High geriatric case mix (>50%)

Treatment Modalities:

  • Ultrasound and electrical stimulation


EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Outpatient physical therapy experience is necessary
  • Inpatient/acute/rehab experience is preferred


CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • BLS/CPR


STATE LICENSE REQUIREMENTS

  • New York State License
  • Willing to send a strong candidate for consideration if they do not yet hold a NY license but are willing to apply by endorsement and can support a start date approximately 6 weeks out due to the urgent need.
