• Moves throughout the facility as needed, appropriately assists in emergency drills and situations, and demonstrates the physical, clinical, and professional capacity to provide direct patient care as described in the tasks and duties of this position.
• Coordinates patient care as assigned, which includes assessing and interpreting patient care information and data.
• Actively supports and encourages Primary Support Person (PSP) / Family involvement in patient's care, with consent of patient. Includes PSP / family members in discussion of nursing plan of care, medications, consultations with physicians and discharge instructions. Encourages PSP / family member presence at the patient's bedside and participation in the patient's care.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• 2 years of OB experience and prior work history in a rural hospital is preferred (level 1 maternity center)

CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

• ACLS
• BLS
• NRP - Preferred: STABLE

LICENSE REQUIREMENTS

• OH or Compact License

The purpose of the Council is to provide a formal process to collaborate with patients and families in the planning, delivery, and evaluation of health care practices. This council will create a safe environment where the needs of the patient and family are given top priority and to make recommendations for change.
